Also, a traditional prayer to the scripture. Om.

An introduction or “The Story Behind the Bhagavad Gita” by Swami Satchidananda. Om.

The focus is on Arjuna, overwhelmed with pity for himself and behaving like a coward and victim. He uses his logic to rationalize and come up with excuses to avoid doing what needs to be done. Eventually, Arjuna surrenders to the guidance of Sri Krishna. And Sri Krishna begins to impart the Knowledge of Yoga, the Sankya Philosophy, including Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, etc. Om.

This beautiful chapter illustrates attachment in action- something that's simply human nature. This chapter is a must-read for anyone looking for wise counsel and compassion. Om.

This chapter sets the stage for the story to unfold. Arjuna has a dialog with Sri Krishna about his inability to fight the greatest war. Om.

This chapter teaches that to achieve ultimate freedom, we must perform every action the right way, which is selfless service. Selfless service, Karma Yoga, is the way to purify the heart and mind. Selfless service, Karma Yoga, helps to let go of attachments and supports our ability to control our senses.

If we only take action for ourselves, we create bondage. If we generate action for the sake of another, a sacrifice, with the same zeal and free from personal attachment, we do it for the love of Self ❤️ then the mind can rest, and the mind can discern.

Powerful teaching. Om.

He further discusses selfless action as the right action and underlines the importance of non-attachment to the fruits of action. He clarifies the concept of doership and egoism. He also explains the concept of immortality and teaches how to be unaffected by pairs of opposites such as joy and grief, success and failure.

This chapter teaches that the seeker should seek the wisdom from a liberated Guru, a realized sage, humbly and with devotion. Faith is the essential quality of a spiritual aspirant.

We all know that intellectual knowledge does not offer peace or liberation. Lord Krishna teaches that when one engages in spiritual Sadhana (daily spiritual practice) with faith and devotion, this person will gain self-mastery and self-control, then spiritual knowledge awakens within. One becomes free from all sin and weakness. Om.
