Ayurveda is a medical science and its purpose is to heal and to maintain the quality and longevity of life. It is an art of daily living that has evolved from practical, philosophical and spiritual illumination, rooted in the understanding of Creation.
Ayurveda: [ayus] “life”, [veda] “knowledge”; emerged from Vedas (Books of Wisdom), spiritual texts of ancient India dated back about 5,000 years and is regarded as humanity’s oldest literature.
Ayurveda is “Knowledge or Science of Life”. It unites the body, mind, and soul by teaching to live in harmony with the basic laws of nature. Ayurvedic medicine teaches to recognize the healing potential within and offers a holistic approach to become our own greatest doctor.
In Ayurvedic medicine “standardized treatment” for the “average person” does not exist. However, it provides a universal framework for understanding the unique blueprint of each individual. Ayurvedic science includes all aspects of life such as physical, mental, emotional, behavioral, spiritual, familial, social, and universal and teaches that health is a continuous process and achieving balance on all levels of being is the true measure of health and vitality. Ayurvedic principles honor and support our true natures.
